This is one of the softest sweet bread that we have. It’s sold in tiendas (small shops) and in supermarkets throughout the country, I guess we call this alemanas because of the brand that sells them.
It’s so soft that it vanishes in your mouth. It’s not hard to make but you need to follow certain steps to make sure the softness is there.
Simple ingredients
Cake flour
eggs
butter
sugar
milk
powdered milk
baking powdered
vanilla
salt
How to make alemanas (Step by Step)
- Using a stand mixer, or a hand mixer, beat butter until soft –it will be easier if butter is a room temperature.
- Add sugar slowly and continue mixing.
- Add in powdered milk while still mixing, add eggs –one by one, and continue to mix for about three minutes, add vanilla and finish mixing for 30 seconds and stop the mixer.
- Using a strainer, sift flour and baking powdered and slowly put in the the batter alternating with the liquid milk little by little. Use a spatula to mix all ingredients at this point.
- Using the mixer or hand mixer again, beat the batter until all is fully combined. About one minute.
- Have small size mold greased and ready to place the batter in. This batter will give you about 12 medium size muffins, or two bread tins.
- Bake for 40 minutes at 350 F. Remember the baking time will depend on the type of mold you are using. Just check the bread looks a little light golden in the edged and use a stick to make sure is fully cook.
- Enjoy!
