In El Salvador, we call this “budin de banana.” It is a mix of French bread, milk, bananas, and sugar. This dessert is almost in every bakery in El Salvador. The ingredients are simple, yet this treat is sweet and filling.
Bread banana pudding is a dessert made with bread, banana, and milk. It has soft consistency, and sweet banana taste.
Some notes to take into account:
- You can use other shapes and sizes for your baking dish, to keep cooking time to 50 minutes, make sure the mixture is not taller than an inch.
- I am using 2% cows milk, but you can go with full fat and it will also work.
- For bread, I really recommend French bread, but baguette, white dinner rolls, or white bread could work. Other variations of bread could change the classic flavor and the consistency.
