Pupusas without salsa, are like sweet bread without your hot drink. There are many ways to make this salsa, this is a way that I find is easy, yet still delicious and with that traditional flavor.
Simple ingredients
Tomatoes ( I use juicy early bird tomatoes) On the vine, or roma will work
Onion
Garlic
Anaheim pepper
Salt
Cumin and pepper
Chicken bullion (Optional)
Oil
How to make salsa for pupusas (step by step)
- Rinse all of your veggies. Roughly cut them in chuck pieces. Place them in the blender.
- Add all the spices, salt, pepper, cumin, bullion. Blend the mixture until is smooth.
- In a medium sauce pan, add oil and once is hot, add the sauce from the blender.
- Cook until the sauce had changed to a deeper red color and it’s barely boiled. Stir regularly as it cooks.
- Let it cool at room temperature and enjoy!
